Distinguished University of Kelaniya, is an accredited state university in Sri Lanka, internationally renowned for Buddhist studies. It is also one of the internationally recognized centre of Pali and Buddhist education.
The Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies (PGIPBS), an institute of excellent Buddhist learning centre is an affiliated institution with the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
PGIPBS has for many decades provided instructions and guidance for the conduct of Buddhist studies such as Master’s Degree, M.Phil, Ph.D including Postgraduate Diplomas, Certificate Courses and short term programmes.
The Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, which is one of the oldest departments under the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka has an outstanding international reputation for Buddhist Studies.
It is reputed for its commitment to the study of Pali and Buddhist Studies, making it well known to be a vigorous and expanding center of teaching and research covering the four main disciplines of Pali, Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Culture and Buddhist Psychology.
